Question 1

How can we design a public playground that serves children of different ages?

Accepted Answer

We split the area into distinct age zones, typically featuring a soft toddler zone (1–3 years) with low equipment and a high-activity zone for older children (4–12). By selecting specific equipment and sight lines, we ensure caregivers can supervise multiple zones comfortably from a single seating area to enhance community safety.

Question 2

Can Lars Laj support public tenders and municipal procurement requirements?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We provide comprehensive documentation to support public procurement and stakeholder approval. This includes detailed technical drawings, material specifications, and EN 1176-oriented safety documentation to ensure all regulatory and quality benchmarks for United Arab Emirates public sector projects are met from the start.

Question 3

What types of equipment are most effective for public community parks?

Accepted Answer

Successful public projects typically combine sand and water play, inclusive swings, multi-play structures, and themed installations. We also recommend incorporating outdoor fitness zones for adults and shaded rest areas with benches, creating a multifunctional space that serves the entire community and encourages long-term resident engagement.

Question 4

Is it possible to phase the playground project across multiple budget years?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Our solutions are scalable, allowing municipalities to start with a priority park and expand in subsequent budget cycles. We plan the layout from day one with future expansion in mind, ensuring a consistent playground concept can be rolled out across multiple districts efficiently.

Question 5

How do you handle accessibility and inclusive equipment in public spaces?

Accepted Answer

We prioritize inclusive design by offering accessible swings, ramps, and ground-level play features. Our team coordinates directly with the municipality and project designers to select equipment that ensures children of all abilities can play together safely, fulfilling modern public sector accessibility requirements.

Question 6

Do public playgrounds in the UAE need to follow EN 1176 safety standards?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Because public playgrounds face intensive daily use, they must meet high safety standards. We design all equipment with EN 1176-oriented fall zones and age-appropriate elements. We further adapt these designs to meet specific local United Arab Emirates project requirements and safety regulations.

Question 7

How are Lars Laj materials adapted for the UAE's desert climate and heat?

Accepted Answer

Our equipment is designed with the United Arab Emirates sun, humidity, and heat in mind. We use durable European-sourced wood, such as acacia and larch, combined with proper material treatments, ventilation, and drainage. We also advise on shaded layouts and slide orientation to mitigate intense tropical sun exposure.

Question 8

What documentation or CAD files are available for municipal planning?

Accepted Answer

We support architects and municipal planners by providing technical drawings and material specifications. This documentation is designed to integrate into your site plans and technical files, ensuring that fall zones, safety distances, and equipment dimensions are accurately represented in your project proposal.

Question 9

Does Lars Laj provide installation support and maintenance guidance?

Accepted Answer

We offer dedicated installation support and after-sales guidance for all public projects. To ensure long-term durability in high-traffic areas, we provide advice on regular inspections and supply replaceable wear parts, helping the municipality maintain a safe environment for the community for years to come.

Question 10

What is the typical lead time and delivery process for equipment from Europe?

Accepted Answer

Our process involves production planning followed by delivery to the project site. For specific lead times and shipping schedules from our European facilities to the United Arab Emirates, please contact our sales coordinator, Anna, who can provide a timeline based on your current project phase and equipment selection.

Question 11

Can we request a custom playground concept for an existing park location?

Accepted Answer

Yes. By sharing your location, dimensions, and community profile, our team will prepare a tailored concept. This includes equipment recommendations and a budget range specifically adapted to your space, whether it is a waterfront promenade, a city square, or a neighbourhood park.

Question 12
